On Sunday we weighed an anchor full of mud that had been nicely dug in for 8 days, and sailed upwind to Tahaa in a fresh breeze. Even put the storm jib up to keep it mellow. We made great time and picked up a mooring at the Taravana “Yacht Club,” (the yacht clubs around here are really more like restaurants with docks). But we had a fabulous dinner that evening and left our St. Francis burgee on the wall.

Back in Bora Bora today at the Bora Bora “Yacht Club,” (again really just a restaurant, but again with a fabulous kitchen), we’ve checked out of the country officially, had our passports stamped, and plan to shove off this afternoon for the Cook Islands, about 600nm south of here. It should take us 3-4 days and will hopefully be a lovely broad reach of 12-17kts ENE. We got the watermaker mostly fixed (yay!!!!), and are still working on the autupilot. But we'll continue that process underway. Since Theresa and David are boat-owner racers from San Francisco Bay they don't mind hand-steering (well, maybe they will after 24 hours !!). We plan to fly the kite as much as possible and sail fast!

David made us some amazing "French" toast with French baguette!!
