Cook Islands

1700 local time
S19 46 W157 26

We are 160nm from Rarotonga, close-reaching at 8kts, on port tack, in 15kts SE wind. We were a little disappointed with the last couple days of no wind (motoring) since we have such a rockstar crew. But we were finally able to shut the engine down at noon today and were happy to feel the boat dig in and bury the rail.

The sun is getting ready to set and Theresa is scanning the horizon for a sight of the islands that we need to keep to starboard tonight. We are officially within the boundaries of the Cook Islands, so today I took down our French courtesy flag and will dig out our Cook Islands flag tomorrow.

Dan is still holed up in the aft cabin, slightly miserable, but making small improvements each day. He has pillows wedged all around him and is trying not to get thrown around too much by the boat. The weather is definitely cooling off (from very hot to hot) which makes us very happy!! ETA Rarotonga: 1500 local Sunday.
